The University of Klagenfurt (AAU) is a young, lively and innovative university at the interface between three cultures. It is the leading academic education institute in Carinthia and a hub for the acquisition, exchange and transfer of knowledge in the Alps-Adriatic region as a whole. The lively diversity and openness on offer here make the University of Klagenfurt a cultural focal point in the region.

The university is divided into 4 faculties and 38 institutes. In addition to the Technical Sciences faculty, the university also offers facilities of Humanities, Management and Economics, Interdisciplinary Studies and Education; in addition to this there is a School of Education (SoE) and the M/O/T - School of Management, Organizational Development and Technology.

Ever since it was first founded in 1970, the University of Klagenfurt has been firmly established on the Austrian and international university scene. The university’s research performance has been recognised at a national and international level. Its projects are an important source of impetus for Carinthia as a financial location. One of the university’s key strengths is the diversity of knowledge, methods and disciplines with which scientists approach research issues: it also undertakes a broad spectrum of exceptional subject and faculty-specific research work. One of the strategic goals of the university is to offer a top class performance in the international environment. Excellent research and the required framework conditions are a fundamental pre-requisite of this.
