Cooperations and partners

KNAPP is growing and expanding. We successfully bundle and expand our expertise, experience and synergies with participating interests and sometimes complete integration of companies.

Market and potential

Logistics is a growing market and a sector of the future. Our aim is to get people excited about our world of intralogistics. Logistics is much more than simply transporting goods from A to B – logistics is incredibly multifaceted. Logistics is everywhere. Logistics is a fundamental part of life.  To experience the innovative KNAPP technologies in action, the best thing to do is to take a look behind the scenes at the larger distribution centres owned by Adidas, Würth, ASOS and Edeka, or the production sites of Pankl High Performance Systems.

Since the founding of the company in 1952, innovation has been an integral part of our company philosophy. It led company founder and inventor Ing. Günter Knapp to develop the first autopicker for pharmaceutical wholesale in addition to his doughnut-filling machine. His subsequent cultivation of software expertise served as the basis for the KNAPP group’s success. Innovative power is anchored firmly in the company; KNAPP is an inventor and global market leader in the area of shuttle technology and has made a lasting impact on the sector with the storage and picking system OSR Shuttle™. We live and breathe innovation. Every year around 35 million euros are invested in the research and development of intelligent technologies and solutions. The Open Shuttles are a good example of this. The autonomous vehicles navigate independently and employ swarm intelligence. KNAPP also works with technologies that don’t typically feature in the world of logistics and uses augmented reality, for example, as the basis for cutting-edge image processing and image recognition systems for quality inspection in the industry. In addition to this, the ergonomic Pick-it-Easy work station series, the Pick-it-Easy Robot, as well as its very own comprehensive, scalable software solution KiSoft One are paving the way to the smart warehouse and to smart production. Over the past 65 years, KNAPP has changed the world of logistics time and time again with its innovations. The company has consistently proven its courage in taking new paths, to develop successful existing technologies and always against a backdrop of innovations only truly being deemed to be successful when added value has reached the customer.

Vision and mission statement

Our corporate values of reliability, courage and appreciation together form the foundation of our corporate culture. Our 3,800 employees actively live out this culture in all business areas.

Across all phases of business development, we value social fairness, a positive and respectful approach to the individual, a strong foundation built on trust as well as a conscientious attitude. Communication, room for creativity and the active involvement of employees in decisions and innovations are some of the pillars of the corporation. The leadership style we uphold is management by objectives. This provides our employees with the opportunity to reach their full potential and achieve outstanding performance.

As a company focused on sustainability and a member of society, we are aware of our responsibility and examine all company activities from an economic, ecological and social point of view. We are a partner to customers, employees, society as a whole, the environment and suppliers, and regularly exchange experiences with them all, enabling us to create unique solutions and facilitate sustainable growth.

The KNAPP group’s slogan is making complexity simple. In terms of technology, this means that processes and systems in the increasingly demanding world of logistics are optimally designed to be efficient, simple and thereby economical and sustainable by undergoing constant technological development. In our work with customers, our slogan, making complexity simple, has a special meaning. It means transparency and openness in communication, as well as care by a dedicated person who acts as the personal contact within our company.

As employers, we want to provide our employees with the best possible support to enable them to fulfil the various demands of their professional life. Here, making complexity simple means using various measures to establish a good work-life balance.
