Education for the global society – at home in the world
In this out-of-school place of learning, children and young people can explore the world. They set off on voyages of discovery to differnet global regions and developments and they undertake imaginary journeys into the future and develop their own perceptions of the future.
The aim is to boost the competence of young people, to help them navigate around the global world, to see themselves as citizens of the world and to live a responsible life and act accordingly.
The Global Citizen Campus is
- A place of learning, discovery and experimentation for children, young people and school pupils;
- A research and practical space for scientists and students where they can work together within the concept of Global Citizenship Education to instigate, test and research teaching and learning processes;
- A development space for the transfer of theory-based, tested and researched teaching/learning models on Global Citizenship Education in schools, teacher training and other educational fields;
- A place of further training for tutors at the University Colleges of teacher Education and universities as well as teachers.
An accompanying research project serves to develop new educational and learning concepts and to support the further training and development of teachers.
