Junior Researcher in wireless communication networks (Job 16/08)

You will work in a national (FFG-funded) research project regarding a mobile communication and multi-sensor solution for outdoor security and risk management. Your particular task will be research work regarding the wireless communication component of the multi-sensor system. This comprises work in the field of wireless communication protocols and (air-borne) sensor networks, M2M communication as well as application oriented research. Several other funding projects in similar fields with national funding (FFG) are already in place.

The candidate is expected to have a master in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or equivalent; very good programming skills in C/C++; profound skills in one or more of the following areas: wireless communication (e.g. M2M), wireless sensor networks, ad-hoc-networks, communication protocols, modeling and simulation (e.g., with Matlab, OMNet++, NS-2). Experience with UAVs is welcome. We expect business fluent English. Fluent German is welcome.

Lakeside Labs is located at the Lakeside Science & Technology Park, adjacent to the university campus and international IT companies. We offer competitive salaries coupled with a nice working atmosphere in beautiful southern Austria. Business language is English.

The contract will be based on a two year fixed-term employment (40h/week) with a gross salary of at least 38.000,- EUR per year depending on job experience and qualification.
