Lakeside Science & Technology Park

Lakeside Science & Technology Park is located just a few hundred meters from the Lake Wörthersee, directly neighbouring the Alps-Adria University of Klagenfurt and offers 26,000 squaremeters of office space.
 
Lakeside Park is a platform for cooperation between enterprises and university institutions in the information and communication technology (ICT) sectors. A place of interdisciplinary research and development, training, production and services. Focused on selective topics of the information and communication technology. Companies and research institutions which share this thematic focus and are synergistically complementary, coalesce here with an intention to cooperate in select R&D projects: a continual workshop of operative development and university research, with experts from business, technical fields and social sciences. With the goal of bringing innovative solutions into being; to present the world with “the newest”.
 
What future image did you have in mind when you established this park?
 
Our intention was and continues to be, to build up a counterbalance to an annual loss in jobs in the classic industry and commercial branches in Carinthia. At the same time, resources which can lead to new jobs in areas of growth have been identified in Carinthia. The vision was to additionally compensate for the regression in the labour market through additional highly-qualified jobs.

Important factor for us was that  there are basically few paradigms for what is new, and what new is, before it comes to be, quite inconceivable. Lakeside Park has the goal, as a regional development project, to provide us with a window, showing just what innovative economies of the future will look like.
